I believe that drawing is a universally important skill that can help even in 3D art!
During my free time I love to paint digitally and draw in my sketchbook. I grew up with a background in 2D art never touching a 3D program until I went to college. Actually I'm lying, I remember trying to 3D model a gun when I was 12 HA! Incredibly unsuccessfully of course.
I created this blog to be able to share some of my digital painting work and share how I am able to use it in my professional work. I'm trying to be better about showing more of my work and show what I can do as an artist.
For work I am primarily 3D modeling and working in a game engine but I like to integrate my drawing and painting skills into my workflow. This allows me to quickly iterate and make my thoughts tangible. I'm always drawing and if you've seen any of my posts you'll see that I always include concept art of some kind or sketches from my sketchbook. I find that when I can taking a step back and draw out what I'm thinking about first it can help guide my work, oftentimes I'll take a picture of my drawings in my sketchbook with my phone, import that image into the 3D modeling software and work from there.
Heres some of my work!
