Biome Boss Creature

I sculpted the high poly in ZBrush then retopolized it using 3D Coat bringing the monster's poly count down to 12K. The horns and Palm Tree parts were decimated from separate sub tools in ZBrush and brought into Maya to combine it with the low poly monster body. UVs were done in Maya and the high poly to low poly bake as well as textures were done in Substance painter.

I also created a rig for the character to animate in Maya, making an idle animation that makes use of joints in the mouth so that the outer mouth can have a level of movement.

throughout the creation process I paid close attention to real world references as well as tried to stay as close as possible to the concept art, some changes had to be made such as the legs in order to achieve the animation.
